Introducing Breen Resources – a great fit for Brownlow Hill
-
The Downes family has established a long-term partnership with Breen Resources – a reputable and experienced resource recovery and recycling centre operator.
Breen Resources specialise in soil remediation and the recovery of construction and demolition materials in the Sydney region. They are licensed by the NSW Environment Protection Authority and must meet their criteria in all their operations.
They take environmental responsibilities seriously and are proud of their unblemished track record.
-
Like Brownlow Hill, Breen is a family owned and operated business and has been now for seventy years. They are committed to providing convenient, and sustainable recycling solutions that deliver maximum benefits for the community and positively impact the environment for future generations.
Breen understands and shares the Downes family’s vision for a sustainable future at Brownlow Hill. Their proven commitment to co-existing with natural environments and local communities makes them the ideal operator for the Breen Macarthur Recycling Centre.
Breen will manage the day-to-day operations of the recycling centre and rehabilitation of the quarry, and will be the primary point of contact for the community.
The Downes family will remain the landowners and closely involved in the project. As immediate neighbours to the quarry site and advocates for the protection of the local environment and community, the family will remain actively involved in the development of the proposal and its activity once operational.

Breen are proud of their compliance record for the Environment Protection Licences they hold, their Pollution Response Incident Management Plan and their compliance with all other government legislation, regulations, and guidelines. This enables them to minimise the impact of their work on natural habitats that co-exist on and surrounding our site, achieving the best outcome for the environment.
Breen provide sustainable recycling solutions for our customers which deliver maximum benefits for the wider community. As well as positively impact the environment for future generations.
Breen ensure their systems are in line with current legislation, standards, and codes of practice. Their processes and systems ensure that they provide a platform that meets all the relevant safety requirements, quality standards and legislative obligations whilst identifying areas of improvement.

Breen are currently proposing the next stage of the delivery of the Marang Parklands in Kurnell, along with changes to our resource recovery facility. This will see them converting 42 hectares of land into community open space which includes rehabilitation and creation of new parkland, walking tracks, parking, lookouts, and other amenities.
This new facility will employ modern technology and partially enclosed operations, all contained on hardstand, to minimise dust and noise on the surrounding environment while redirecting construction waste from landfill to create products that can be used in the civil and landscape sectors.
